  1. so as soon as you’re born, you’re 1 year old?

  2. It is the 49th anniversary of the first Sycamore Pumpkin Festival.
It is the 50th Sycamore Pumpkin Festival.

  3. Right, so he’s wrong and they are morons.

  4. I mean he’s right. Dammit, why isn’t there an edit/delete function.

  5. 1962: 1st festival
1963: 2nd festival and one year anniversary
    1972: 11th festival and 10 year anniversary
    2011: 50th festival and 49 year anniversary
    2012: 51st festival and 50 year anniversary

  6. William IS correct, though it’s hard to give him credit for that when he takes such a crappy tone. At least the committee member was somewhat humble and respectful in his/her response, erroneous though it was.

  7. Hi there, I am the creator of the “Sycamore Pumpkin Fest” page. Just wanted to clear up some info regarding the post that was made. This is the 49th anniversary of Pumpkin Festival- BUT our slogan this year is “50 Years of Pumpkins”. It has indeed been 50 YEARS of the Pumpkin Festival. After posting the comment and realizing I said anniversary instead of “years” I edited the comment with correct terms, but it seems someone got a screen shot of it before the explanation was changed.

    lol wow

  9. The thing about the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival is that they never called it thier 50th Anniversary. They are calling it “Celebrating 50 Years”, which is correct.

I’m getting a kick out of lame book viewers going to the site and telling them they are stupid, when in fact it IS the 50th year. The word “Anniversary” is not on thier webpage, facebook page, anywhere!

    their*

  11. Charlotte is OK, other than being yet another facebook girl who thinks we care about the everyday details of her pregnancy.

  12. But if you read just the posts by them on their wall they do call it the 50th anniversary a couple of times.

  13. It always tickles me to see my small ol’ hometown featured on the big ol’ internet.

Shout-out to the Class of ’86!

So I must be living under a rock to have never heard of this Sycamore Pumpkin Festival that apparently is HUGE.

  15. Seems people have been on to them for a while

The Great Sycamore Pumpkin Fest Conspiracy 49/50
Open group started at oct 7

If you post a comment in the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival group about them being wrong it will be deleted, if you do it again you will be blocked from commenting, the third time you will be kicked out of the group and blocked.

    Pumpkins for life!

  16. Lalama, I have not kicked anyone out of the group, but I have blocked you from commenting, because you were spamming every post on the page. You are the ONLY person who has been blocked from commenting. All others must have been deleting their own comments because they must have realized they made a mistake :)

  18. Yeah, I’m sure that the person who posted the screen cap of the one of the posts you deleted that you said 50th anniversary really was the one to delete the comment and had nothing to do with you.

  19. Are you kidding me AmieS? I commented on your last post three times because you keept removing my comment. Did not write anything anywhere else. And considering the others, no, you or someone else removed at least two other peoples comment for sure. Non of us wrote anything other then that you were wrong, nothing harsh or anything, but you could not stand up for it. Very strange that just certain comments disappered

  20. I have been going through and deleting ALL comments regarding this stupid controversy. Our festival starts in 2 days, and it should not be about “what year it is”, it should be about enjoying it.

BTW, I am in no way involved with Pumpkin Fest or the committee in any way.

  21. so Amies, what you are saying is on my daughters 4th birthday i will celebrate 5 years of Zoe’s. no that makes no sense. on the second year event, you had one year so check your math. 1 day does not equal 1 year so the first event DOES NOT COUNT.

  22. So, does that mean when you celebrate a wedding anniversary it’s 20 years(or whatever) after the date, not counting the initial wedding day? It would make sense, but I didn’t know thats what people actually did.

  23. Please read my previous comments. It is NOT THE 50th ANNIVERSARY of Pumpkin Fest. I admit that I made a mistake in saying the word anniversary. The theme is “50 Year of Fabulous Pumpkins”. The committee themselves never claim it is the 50th anniversary.

  24. So you did not delete the comments, but you did? Anyway, I wish you good luck with your not anniversary festival.

  25. This is all nice and everything, except that it isn’t 50 years of pumpkins either, because you wouldn’t have said “1 year of pumpkins” in 1962. 50 years == 50th anniversary. The only thing this is is the 50th pumpkin festival, i.e. 49 years of pumpkins and the 49th anniversary.

  26. dood. you couldn’t have said it better if you tried

  27. Also, wasn’t there a post saying they had “50th pumpkin anniversary” flags made up?? I think they stuffed up and are trying to back peddle with the 50 years of pumpkins

  28. Also Charlotte, a kick in the face is also good when your that f@cken ugly…
    Some people don’t deserve children….

  29. So basically, they’re trying to say ’50th Pumpkin Celebration’, but that sounds retarded so they’re going with ’50 Years of Pumpkins’, which still isn’t technically right. Whatever guys, just chill the fuck out. Cut their pumpkin festival some slack. Jesus.

Charlotte is fucktarded and the Abe Lincoln joke is almost older than the Internet.

  30. @lexluther I’ll let him have it as soon as he admits to being a retard

  31. AmieS, you are welcome to lick my ball sack you heinous cunt.

  32. I don’t think a minor counting/terminology error qualifies you for retard status. Calm down bro.

  33. Vincent_Valentine

I’m with lex. i do not believe AmieS is a “heinous cunt” because of this mistake haha. Let them celebrate their pumpkins in peace.

  34. what are you guys arguing about…?

  35. This: http://www.lamebook.com/e-diots-3/idiot3/

  36. Awww, I missed the pumpkin party. I was gonna quibble, but with the original deleted I guess the issue’s dead on the vine.

  37. Whos cares about Pumpkins? This is illegitimate.

  38. thataintwhaturdaddysaid

My humble suggestion for 2012 sign “50th anniversary (fu.ck you bi.tches) and 51st Sycamore Pumpkin Festival.” It’s catchy.

  39. Pumpkins suck

    Team Butternut Squash.

  40. awwwwe man! I fucking love you guys!
    x

  41. Wow.

  42. wow. i never thought we could badger something so bad that it actually got removed. that was fun. NEXT
