@MsBuzzkillington I could make this same post using photoshop only, no need to create a new page or change my name.. still entirely lonely and depressing, however. Haha, thought I would tell you it’s possible and (I would say) easier to create a joke FB banter this way.
“Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose.”-From the Merriam Webster site.
This topic has been argued for a century now. I’m on the “it’s a fucking word” side.
Agree to disagree?
well, of COURSE irregardless is a word. but the people who use it look stupid because it’s just another to mean “regarding.” if you were to say regardless, or irregarding (wtf…) it would be more acceptable. but why not just say regarding, instead of going with the double negative of irregardless?
Yo Guile, it’s ok, man. I’ll admit, when I go to the gym, I alternate hands when I left a 10 pounder until my arm hurts, then switch. That way, my Guidette first pump is strong no matter what hand I use.
@ Chun-Li “Keona likes this.”
@ 12, Look in a fucking dictionary, you twiddle twatterson.
You can use either “regardless” or “irregardless.”
They mean the same. damn. thing. Jesus Christ. I didn’t know that irregardless meant the same thing until a couple months ago, and looked it up.
Like I said, this has been going on for years. We will probably never agree.
However Shinsplints #16, you might just be stupid. Irregardless and regardless have the same meaning, but indeed have the opposite meaning of “regarding.”
