I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I don’t think it’s odd.
I don’t think they should have posted it on facebook though.
A lot of older people don’t have many pictures made, and that’s the last time those people are going to see her.

Although, I wouldn’t advice taking a picture after death, I would much rather have the memory of her alive.

Also, the picture with her, could be a lost child. Maybe it died in birth? And she probably wanted to be buried with it. Many people near death plan their own funerals.

I would say folks should try not to be so ethnocentric, but I realize most of you probably don’t even know what that means, so let me break it down.

Different people deal with death in different ways. In many cultures, it is quite common to photograph funerals and the dead. I imagine it has been this way since the early days of modern photography, when people realized they had a quick and lasting way to capture the last moments of their loved ones’ bodies. It’s not necessarily trashy, just one way of doing things. I, myself, was not raised with this tradition. I probably wouldn’t do it myself. But I know photos were taken of my mother-in-law in her casket.

What’s the value in being so judgmental?

I just saw this and I have not even read the comments and I am not going to. But I have a picture of my daughter in her casket on facebook! Most of my friends have lost children and most are my family. If they do not like it then they do not have to look. I put it there for me and for my family. I do not have a problem with this!! It is personal and private. Facebook is usually private and only for friends and families. If my friends or families had a problem with this then they could delete themselves. I dont care.
