  2. Oh my god! Why would you EVER take a picture of your dead grandmother??? I’ve been to many open casket funerals and seen people go up there and cry, pray, talk, etc… Never in my life have I seen someone snapping pictures of the person inside the casket!

And ok, so you take a picture (for your scrapbook?? wtf???). WHO POSTS THAT ON FACEBOOK??? GROSS!!!

  3. I find nothing disturbing or shocking about this pic. Death is just a natural part of life, why shouldn’t it be posted on facebook?

I’m just surprised when people react to images of death like this.

  4. if grandma was alive I’m sure she’d be oh so pleased that you posted a picture of her all dead and stuff on facebook….oh wait, none of that made sense.

  5. Hellz, my cervical fluids are also a natural part of life but I’m not going to post photos of it.

  6. This is a GREAT ad for organ donation and cremation..Just think..Better for the environment, help save a life AND you don’t end up being ridiculed by idiots..and by idiots I also mean you’re OWN thoughtless family who in their “infinite wisdom” put you on display for all the world to see.

  7. lucy lu, you are an asshoe

I totally agree, this is not some gory picture. She is peaceful and looks cared for. I think people are not exposed to death enough. It has become this huge dramatic thing instead of the natural process that it is. Making comments about sex with the dead is just as silly as being angry about those same comments. I don’t find it lame that this was posted on facebook, I think it’s a nice change to the other crap people post on their fb pages.

  9. how is this image disturbing? i was expecting something nasty.

like, a bloated disfigured, discolored body.

  10. This is such a strange custom. My father’s family took pictures of my grandmother (only a few could make the wake) but then they mailed us copies of all the pictures. My parents still have them because they feel strange about throwing them out.

  11. Ok, so THIS you put behind a cut, but pictures of FECES you display proudly? WTF, Lamebook? Get a clue.

  12. ha my family gave my grandma a casket and paid funeral for her birthday last year while she was still alive

  13. ‘mobile uploads’-
so not only was this picture taken…it was taken with a cell phone.
this is a funeral, not a god damn jonas brother’s concert.

  14. Tired Of The Stupid

The photo didn’t disturb me. The comments about wanting to fuck, have oral sex and etc.. did.

I know your doing your very best to look cool by saying the most extreme thing possible but grow up for fucks sake. Especially those of you who say the exact same thing someone else already said. I counted numerous “want to fuck her” comments. Pathetic, can’t even think of your own comment.

  15. Wow #64 grow up! It’s only a dead body – it can’t hurt you! Stop going on about your damn sandwich – Lamebook gave plenty of warning for all the pussies out there. I can’t believe how many people are scared of bodies – I see them nearly everyday, it’s not scary at all.

  16. Oh man, no chance for Grams to remove the tag from an unflattering picture.

  17. NSFW? More like NSFL–Not Safe For Life. >.<

    Alison:
You might find this cruel, but the fact is, we are here to laugh at the weird, lame and/or stupid things people say and post on FB, not to be understanding of their criteria to do so (“to each their own”? No. Try: WTF?). And Lamebook exists only because there are people who post that (relatively private, in theory) stuff here. Is that too callous for you to enjoy it? If so, then you’re probably on the wrong site

  19. Not that fucked up, calm down people. This is just someone commemorating her grandmother. Best Gore has properly fucked up dead people. So get off your conservative high horse and relax.
    Mary-Jane is a wonderful relaxant

  20. What I can’t believe is that they actually TAGGED her in it.

  21. Am I the only one who finds it slightly amusing the previous post is ‘bodily dysfunctions’?
    Really?

  22. LOL necroman at #58 and jane at #56 – some of the funniest comments ever. I didn’t get shocked by this post at all. Seriously, that bloody baby from a few pages back was 10 times more disturbing..

  23. Amen Ms. Terri/#93

This would be far more amusing with that trusty little thumbs-up graphic. Especially if Mr Martha was responsible for the ‘like’.

  24. That’s creepy.

  25. @104

So is breastfeeding. But I’d prefer not to see your dinner plate nipples on facebook, thank you.

  26. I’m lovin’ how they tagged her too.

  27. WTF that’s my fucking grandma what the hell are you people doing with this picture????? WE put it on fb for the family who couldn’t be at the funeral to see and you guys somehow get hold of it an laugh at it!??! What the fuck is wrong with you assholes, that woman is dead! She was a loving mother and wife and grandmother and we should be respecting her for that. RIP Gran X

  28. Ahah either troll or douche, wait, they’re the same thing…
Go home, the point of this site is to laugh at people like you :D.

  29. because when im at a funeral i think, i know, i’ll take a photo of this moment and share it with the world. yeah good times.

  30. im not sure what to say to this
    tweet @deathcab4booty seems appropriate

  31. Finn it’s not fucking funny ok douchebag how would you feel if it was your gran on lame book huh?

  32. Sam. Despite the fact that you’re lying and love attention online…

Even if it is your “gran” it’s still funny. She’s tagged. How unbelievably hilarious is that? She had a facebook (it’s still active) and someone had the nerve to tag her…as though she’d get the notice and be happy someone tagged her…

The world we’ve created is the best. I get more and more laughs per day as time rolls along. People are retarded and I rock (because I’ll die laughing and people will die being lame).

    Sam. Chill. Kay? Cool.

  33. I worked at a mortgage company and I had to ask a customer why she had paid her mortgage late. She said that she had to make an emergency trip out of the country to attend her grandfather’s funeral…she then proceeded to send me a picture of dead grandpa in his casket. I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode.

  34. oh my god, i had a coworker do this too, too a picture of the corpse in the casket then brought it all to us to see at work..then got pissed because we called her creepy..and the pict was on her cell phone..

  35. Is her face blurred so noone will recognize and ambarass her at the market? “Girl, I seen you dead in that casket. Your makeup was jacked up!”

  36. I Love how she Tagged her Dead Grandmother… Its gunna show up on her Grandmother’s facebook! (wtf does grandma have a facebook?)

  37. who is grandpa gonna fuck now?

  38. probably stay tuned on his hand

  39. Why do people put this on facebook!!!! :O

  40. That pic in there with her must be her “glamor shot” from 1892.

  41. Fucking hell…. Hate the old bitch that much that you would humiliate your family like that on facebook….? Who takes a camera to an open casket? Was this taken in Ohio?? Fucken hippi’s

  42. I don’t see what the big deal is… & what does NSFW stand for?

#61 Bruce: “I see dead ppl…Like everyone else on facebook” you win, hilarious…

If you’re christian and you think she’s in heaven what’s the big deal, her soul is gone, it’s just a body and if you’re atheist then really what’s the big deal.
    I can’t believe ppl get so jacked the fuck up at other ppl’s comments. It’s a picture, It’s facebook/lamebook, it’s funny…

  43. This is so lame it is not worth a comment!

  44. There is a photo in the second picture… and I bet there is a photo in that picture as well…. Kinda looks like a window into the past. I might have to tell my family to start that tradition… looks cool.

  45. I think number 3 got this one on the head.

  46. I’m guessing the lady doesn’t have a Facebook account of her own, otherwise she’d be tagged properly in the photo…

  47. I came.

  48. the 4th comment sounded like dwigth schrute

  49. I just saw this and I have not even read the comments and I am not going to. But I have a picture of my daughter in her casket on facebook! Most of my friends have lost children and most are my family. If they do not like it then they do not have to look. I put it there for me and for my family. I do not have a problem with this!! It is personal and private. Facebook is usually private and only for friends and families. If my friends or families had a problem with this then they could delete themselves. I dont care.

Off my soap box now, this one just struck a cord in me!!

  50. I would say folks should try not to be so ethnocentric, but I realize most of you probably don’t even know what that means, so let me break it down.

Different people deal with death in different ways. In many cultures, it is quite common to photograph funerals and the dead. I imagine it has been this way since the early days of modern photography, when people realized they had a quick and lasting way to capture the last moments of their loved ones’ bodies. It’s not necessarily trashy, just one way of doing things. I, myself, was not raised with this tradition. I probably wouldn’t do it myself. But I know photos were taken of my mother-in-law in her casket.

What’s the value in being so judgmental?
