This was at least the third thread you’ve done that on – I don’t even think you’re aware you’re doing it, or how patronising it sounds. Not every parent / grandparent is as inept at using Facebook as yours apparently are.

Why should people censor themselves?

EXACTLY! My MIL didn’t like some of the stuff she saw on facebook. She said “I love you guys, it’s not for me.” And she quietly closed her account.

This is how GROWN PEOPLE behave.

I’ve seen many “this is your mother” posts on facebook. A lot of moms do that to show the friends of their daughter/son/whatever that they are the mom.

Heck, in person my mom has said something like “this is something your mother should know!”

I’m pretty sick of the people that dismiss messages as fake because of their misguided assumptions that they know how everyone in the world uses facebook.

Yes yes, we get the message; old people do not know how Facebook – or the internet in general – works. In the case of your direct family, this is something of a mercy, as they’d be mortified to learn how patronising you have repeatedly been about them here. This seems to be the only thing you ever post about. Please feel free to STFU about it, ‘k?

No-one should be surprised that you don’t post about your sex life on Facebook, given that you are quite obviously too young to have one – finger banging over Robert Pattinson not withstanding. Or I pray to God that this is the case, as regardless of actual age, you come across as being too immature to be having sex. Please do not breed. Ever.

Ageism is my favourite form of bigotry, as the people who subscribe to it will – if they’re lucky – one day become the subject of their own fallacies. Fountain Of Youth be damned – we have plenty of youth about, but what we really need is a Fountain Of *Smart* . . .

I don’t understand these quizzes. How anyone is stupid enough to think that answering a few questions could possibly result in an accurate rating of how good you are in bed is beyond me. People that proceed to publish the results, with results such as “you’re in the top 5% of all lovers” are blatantly trying to imply that it’s true. If you need to take a quiz like that in the first place, then my guess is you’re very shit in bed. IMO the mother and grandmother are not lame for disapproving, as Tori might as well have posted a status saying “I’m awesome in bed, someone please have sex with me!”…which by any standards, means she is a slut. You can be good in bed, but don’t need to advertise it, because if you really feel the need to advertise you might as well be sell it too.

Or rather, grandmothers add them. And despite not really understanding how Facebook works. they somehow understand enough to be offended if they find you’re not adding them.

However, I don’t take sex quizzes, so I don’t mind being friends with my entire family. There’s honestly nothing I would post that I wouldn’t want my grandmother or mother to read. I’d rather not post about my sex life at all on Facebook regardless of who reads it.

If I were going to create some fake Facebook thing, I’d want it to be epic. But then again, people would call fake just because it WAS epic. Hm, dilemma.
